Applications

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image is a mapping of electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the measured ground target, which includes the influence of radar signal propagation in the atmosphere, the influence of radar transmitter and receiver, and the influence of various errors in the imaging processing system. The process of radiation calibration is to determine the comprehensive influence of various errors on the radar image, and then compensate these influences in the image data according to the calibration data, so as to establish the quantitative relationship between the SAR image and the radar scattering cross-sectional area of the ground object. Internal calibration is an important part of radiation calibration.
